The other day I looked up at the sky while on a break from the bakery. The clouds were so thick you could not see any blue or even a glimpse of the sun's light shining through.
Inspired, I commented to my co-workers, "and so it is with our lives". We need to remind ourselves that no matter what circumstances cloud our lives in a given moment the sun is always shining and will continue to shine just on the other side.
It does not take faith to see the clouds when they are in plain view. The clouds and storms are secondary, they come after the sun not before it. We don't have to wait for the sun to come out, it's already there behind the scenes.
We need to focus on the one that is constant and unchanging, instead of the things that are passing through. They will pass through.
It's the sun that reveals the clouds, not the other way around. At best, all the clouds and storms can do is to attempt to conceal the sun. That's the issue. What is your perspective? Are you seeing the clouds from the side of the sun or are you missing the the sun from the other side of the clouds.
What is our Father's perspective?
Isaiah 60 (Amplified Bible)
1ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
2For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.
3And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
4Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.
5Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.
If you know Him, then the Son will always be shining in you. No one can come to the Father unless they come by way of believing in Jesus as His Son.
Are there any storms clouding you life at the present time? The Son will reveal the clouds for what they are, they are passing through. Don't fall under their shadow. Black clouds don't follow us around, we follow them around. When we watch the clouds they draw us away from the sun. However, when we keep our focus on the sun, the clouds pass us by.
Focus from the Son's point of view. Don't be fooled by your point of view. Let the Son shine in you even at the times when it's difficult to see Him shining upon you. Come storms or clouds He's shining just the same...
